11th Annual Chihuahua Races at Bully’s Sports Bar

April 23, 2010

The 11th Annual Chihuahua Races at Bully’s Sports Bar are a benefit for the Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Northern Nevada. The races will be at Bully’s Sparks location at the corner of Pyramid Highway and McCarran Blvd. There will be races on two days – Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, May 2, from noon to 6 p.m. Watching and racing your dog are both free. This is an event I’ve never seen, but it sounds like it could be hilarious.

If you’ve got a fast chihuahua and want to enter the race, you must register online by April 26. There is also a class for dogs of other breeds, but they must be small enough to fit the race course. There will also be a doggie costume contest with doggie-appropriate prizes. Spectators and race participants are encouraged to make a donation to the SPCA. Get all the details from the Bully’s Sports Bar & Grill website.
