Family Campfire Programs at Galena Creek Regional Park

June 27, 2010

The Great Basin Institute is presenting a series of free summer evening campfire programs in Galena Creek Regional Park, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday nights through June and July. I’m a little late posting this information, but here are the remaining programs in the series…

  • July 2: Reno Youth Jazz Orchestra
  • July 9: Wild Side Host Connie Stevens of Wildlife Inc.
  • July 16: Screening of the documentary movie “Tapped”
  • July 23: Youth talent show featuring Great Basin Naturalist campers
  • July 30: Hawaiian music and dance

Galena Creek Regional Park is at 18350 Mt. Rose Highway. Use the north entrance to get to the program site at Eagle Meadows Amphitheater. Bring a blanket or low-back beach chair to sit on. Outdoor programs are subject to weather conditions. Call the Great Basin Institute at (775) 674-5475 x4 on the day of the program to confirm and RSVP. It can be cool in the evening, so dress appropriately for the weather.
