Artown is Coming to Town

July 1, 2010

Artown, Reno’s month-long celebration of culture and the arts, gets started Thursday afternoon and evening. Opening night festivities begin at 4 p.m. at the Freight House District by Aces Ballpark. A bit later, a parade led by MarchFourth Marching Band will lead revelers through downtown Reno to continue the party at Wingfield Park.

At Wingfield Park, a big Latin dance bash will be led by the music of Tiempo Libre. This is an audience participation event – everyone is invited to move and groove, with no regard to your level of dancing experience. Following the dance party, MarchForth will carry on into the night at Reno’s Knitting Factory venue.

Opening night is only the first of 31 days of Artown. This is the 15th edition of our amazing community-wide celebration that features events and activities for everyone in the family.
