Nevada State Fair Gets a New Name

August 6, 2010

Starting with its 2010 run, the Nevada State Fair is morphing into the Nevada Territory Wild West Fair. According to fair directors, much of what folks have come to like and expect since the Fair’s inception in 1864 will remain the same. What’s going to be new is an emphasis on Nevada’s pioneer history and heritage, with new attractions like the Great American Wild West Show, the Great Basin Native American Gathering, the Comstock Civil War Re-Enactors, a Mining Camp, Western Frontier Town, Railroad Yard, mountain men encampment, stage coach rides, Old Mexico, and lots more.

The Nevada Territory Wild West Fair will run from August 25th through August 29th. The stomping grounds are at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, 1350 N. Wells Avenue in Reno. With free parking and inexpensive admission, this is a great family entertainment venue. Yee haw! See y’all at the Nevada Territory Wild West Fair.
