Wolf Pack Wins Texting Challenge

January 12, 2011

In the texting challenge between Nevada Wolf Pack and Boston College fans, it has been announced by Kraft that Wolf Pack fans successful sent more texts than Boston College, resulting in a 20,000 meal donation from Kraft to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The Wolf Pack will also receive an additional meal for each text sent. The final tally for the challenge gives Nevada 19,136 text votes.

Kraft created the text challenge for fans of each team to help make a difference with hunger issues in their region. Wolf Pack fans texted the word Nevada followed by a space and then their zip code to 71717 to show their support.

The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl is the only bowl game raising money and awareness regarding the hunger problem in the United States. The bowl game celebrates the culmination of Kraft Foods’ Huddle To Fight Hunger program. The goal of the program is to donate as many as 20 million meals or more to Feeding America – the nation’s leading hunger relief organization – to help people in need.

By the way, the Nevada Wolf Pack won the 2011 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl. The Pack defeated Boston College 20-13 before over 41,000 fans at AT&T Park in San Francisco on Sunday evening, January 9. The win gives the Wolf Pack a 13-1 season record and breaks a four-game losing streak in post-season bowl games. Nevada winds up this stellar season ranked #15 BCS and #13 AP.

  1. I was supposed to be there…ahh.

Can’t believe 40,000 went to the game. Unbelievable.

  2. Joe Says:

I’ve always wondered why it was called “kraft hunger”…it’s pretty awesome though that they would spend millions promoting food donation.

I think that’s a good move on the part of Kraft.

    Awesome game BTW..
