Labor Day Weekend

August 13, 2011

Labor Day, the last big summer holiday weekend, will be full of fun things to do around the Reno, Sparks, and Lake Tahoe areas. The biggest event during this time is the ever popular Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off at Victorian Square in Sparks. Hundreds of thousands turn out for several days of good eating, family fun, and free entertainment.

There are numerous other choices for activities, including beaches at Lake Tahoe, hiking, biking, fishing, picnicking at area parks, golf, cooling off at any of numerous local swimming pools and water play places, movies, museums, and more. The Reno Aces will be in town playing at Aces Ballpark and you can see a Labor Day fireworks show at South Lake Tahoe. Have fun, but be safe while enjoying this traditional end to the summer holidays.
