Holiday program in Sparks and more Christmas cheer

December 12, 2011

The City of Sparks Parks and Recreation Department is offering a new holiday program, “Kids Night Out – Parents Night In” on Dec. 17 at the Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd. Ages 7 to 12 can enjoy an evening of swimming, games and pizza while parents have a quiet night in or do some last minute holiday shopping. Hours are 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Cost: $24 or $20 for residents of Sparks. For more information, call (775) 353-2385.

For more kid and family-friendly holiday activities, like visits with Santa, see what’s happening at the Washoe County Library in December.

There are more Christmas things to do around the area, like concerts, performances of “The Nutcracker,” caroling, and more. If you are a little short on cash, no problem – free Christmas and holiday events are happening all over town.
