Babysitter Training Course for Preteens and Teens

The Sparks Parks and Recreation Department is offering a one-day babysitter training class developed by the American Red Cross to give teens and preteens a jump start on becoming confident caregivers. The class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 at the Alf Sorensen Community Center, 1400 Baring Blvd. The training course offers a fun, fast-paced curriculum with hands-on activities, exciting video, role-plays and lively discussions.

The cost is $102 per person for ages 11 to 15 ($85 for residents of Sparks). Assistance is available for those who cannot otherwise participate due to financial limitations. You can register online or call (775) 353-2385.
