Recycle phone books for trees in our parks

The 21st annual phone book recycling program runs from December 28, 2011 through January 22, 2012. The City of Reno drop off locations include: Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center, Neil Road Recreation Center, Northwest Pool, and Reno City Hall. Through this effort, AT&T and the Arbor Day Foundation will donate trees to area parks.

  • Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center – 1301 Valley Road
  • Neil Rd. Recreation Center – 3925 Neil Road
  • Northwest Pool – 2925 Apollo Way
  • Reno City Hall – Virginia Street, downtown Reno

In addition to the locations in Reno, phone books can be recycled at Scolari’s stores, Sack ‘n Save stores, Waste Management Recycle America at 1100 E. Commercial Row in Reno and 1455 E. Greg St, in Sparks, AT&T offices, or with curbside recyclables.

The annual phone book recycling effort is coordinated by Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, Scolari’s Food & Drug Company, AT&T Real Yellow Pages, and Waste Management Recycle America. Residents of rural communities throughout northern Nevada can find out how to recycle outdated phone books in their area by calling 1-800-953-4400.
