2012 Reno City Council Election

May 20, 2012

There is a crowded field of candidates in the 2012 Reno City Council primary election. Seats in four of six wards are up for grabs – three due to term limits and one in which the incumbent has decided not to run for re-election.

This is the first opportunity in many years for voters to significantly change the make-up of the Reno City Council. Learn more about this important election from “Reno City Council Elections 2012.”

On a related issue, Reno City Council ward boundaries were re-drawn this year as a result of population changes recorded by the 2010 Census. The changes weren’t huge, but you should check to make sure you which ward you are in, just in case the line moved on you. Refer to “Reno City Council Ward Boundaries” for details.

Before heading to the polls, you can check your voter registration status through either the Washoe County Registrar of Voters or the Nevada Secretary of State.
