Snowshoeing and cross country skiing at Incline Village

January 23, 2013

Lake Tahoe residents and visitors can still enjoy Incline Village’s famed golf offerings, even in the middle of winter, thanks to the Championship Course’s newly improved, 1.2-mile snowshoe and cross country course. Access to the trail is free, as is parking, making for a great day of outdoor fun for families, couples, and friends.

Located in the heart of Incline Village on Lake Tahoe’s north shore, the Championship Course snowshoe and cross country course is open through the end of the ski season. Skiers and snowshoers may park in the lot reserved for guests of the course’s event venue, the Chateau, and begin the marked trail on what is typically the #10 tee box, directly behind the Chateau. The 1.2-mile trek proceeds down the #10 fairway onto holes 11 and 12, before cutting over to 18 and back to the Chateau. The Championship trail is classified as easy and snow conditions may vary depending on the weather.

The Incline Village Championship Course is located on Fairway Boulevard off of Country Club Drive in Incline Village. For more information, call (775) 832-1100.

Those interested in other types of winter outings will find plenty of snow play areas throughout the Lake Tahoe region. The snow is great and the weather is mild, so it’s a good time to get out and enjoy our Sierra Nevada winter.
