Peter Pan flies at the Pioneer Center

The spring gala season for the A.V.A. Ballet Theatre opens with the classic ballet Peter Pan on April 27 and 28 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. Re-staged and re-choreographed by Alexander Van Alstyne, Peter Pan is the story of Peter Pan and Wendy and their adventures in Neverland. The composer of the score for the ballet, Carmon De Leone, will conduct the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. De Leone is the music director of the Cincinnati Ballet. Fairies, pirates and the Lost Boys have starring roles in this fantasy adventure. This classic story is filled with mesmerizing dance, intrigue, and is fun for the entire family.

Outstanding guest principal dancers who have danced with the San Francisco Ballet, Houston Ballet, and Salt Lake City’s Ballet West will perform with the cast from A.V.A. Ballet Theatre.

The Saturday, April 27 performance will be at 8 p.m. The Sunday, April 28 performance will be at 2 p.m. Ticket prices for adults are $25 to $45. Ticket prices for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and older are $20 to $40. For tickets, call the Pioneer Center at (775) 686-6600 or buy tickets online. Pioneer Center box office hours are Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
