Reno is Petown at Nevada Humane Society

July 4, 2013

The entire Reno area is celebrating Artown right now and the Nevada Humane Society is celebrating Petown! From July 1 through 31, the Reno is Petown adoption promotion is encouraging residents to adopt their very own “Dog Vinci,” “Cattisse,” or “Petcasso” at a great price. Adult cats can be adopted for $10 and adult dogs (over six months old, excluding specially priced dogs) can be adopted for $50, and kittens are just $60! All dogs, cats, and kittens are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before being adopted. These services would normally cost over $200.

“We have so many beautiful animals and many are a work of art themselves,” said Kimberly Chandler, Communications Manager for Nevada Humane Society. “Their personalities are lively and colorful while their looks are unique too – from solid, shiny black fur to brindle or calico markings that look as if an artist took a paintbrush to them. These wonderful pets deserve so much love, and by adopting during Reno is Petown you open up space to save other homeless animals.”

In addition, Nevada Humane Society is hosting two official Artown events for the fourth year – The Pawspective Art Show on July 13 and Creative Kids for Critters on July 27, both at the Nevada Humane Society shelter.

Nevada Humane Society’s adoption center is located at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno and is open Sunday through Friday from 11:00 am until 6:30 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm. For more information, call 775-856-2000. Consider adopting a pet today and help Washoe County stay one of the safest communities for homeless pets.
