Volunteer for Truckee River Cleanup Day

September 17, 2013

Join Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful for the Truckee River Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. There are 10 sites along the river to choose from, going east to Lockwood. Volunteers are needed for trash pick-up, storm drain stenciling, invasive weed removal, as well as various other projects to keep our river beautiful. Last year over 700 volunteers removed over 13 tons of trash from the river.

To volunteer and get the details, go to the Truckee River Cleanup Day web page and click the volunteer signup form link. You’ll be able to pick the park where you’d like to help from a list of several. Following the clean up, registered volunteers will be treated to a free BBQ lunch at Rock Park in Sparks.

Truckee River Cleanup Day is supported by a generous grant from Truckee Meadows Water Authority’s Truckee River Fund. KTMB also partners with REI, the cities of Reno and Sparks parks and recreation departments, and Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space. For more information, visit the KTMB website or call (775) 851-5185.
