Fall back – Daylight Saving Time is ending

November 2, 2013

Daylight Saving Time for 2013 ends Sunday, November 3, at 2 a.m. To make sure you are on schedule for Sunday activities, set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night before retiring. If you are a night owl like me, you’ll be enjoying that extra hour to get moving in the morning.

I don’t much care for this time switch business. Folks in Arizona don’t, either, and they don’t play the daylight saving game. In any event, it’s coming up on the dark time of year, when we lose a few minutes of sunshine each day until the winter solstice (first day of winter) on December 21, the darkest day of the year. At this point, celestial movements do a U-turn and give us a few more minutes of sunshine each day until the longest day of the year, which is the summer solstice in June.
