Big Hearts, Little Animals at Nevada Humane Society

April 26, 2014

Nevada Humane Society is introducing another unique, local campaign. Big Hearts, Little Animals was created to raise awareness for people and pets in need. From April 24 through April 29, when you visit Nevada Humane Society and bring 4 cans of human food to benefit the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, you will receive half off the standard pet adoption fee for adult cats and dogs (standard fees are $50, excluding specially priced pets, puppies and kittens). Big Hearts, Little Animals encourages people, even if they are not able to adopt a pet right now, to drop off a food donation and spend time with the animals, simply offering companionship.

A donation bin from the Food Bank of Northern Nevada has been placed in Nevada Humane Society’s shelter and people are encouraged to drop off food donations any time during regular pet adoption hours. The bin will be out through April 29. Nevada Humane Society is also working in conjunction with the BiggestLittleCity.org to promote sharing the positive features of Reno, showcasing the variety of good that is continually spread across the community.

Nevada Humane Society’s shelter is located at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno and is open Sunday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. For more information, call (775) 856-2000. Consider adopting a pet today and help us make Washoe County one of the safest communities for homeless pets.
