2014 Tour de Nez races through Reno

August 3, 2014

The 22nd annual Tour de Nez bicycle races will be staged on the streets of downtown Reno on Saturday, August 9. This colorful, family-friendly event brings a gathering of top pro bike racers to compete in criterium racing and offers several other events in which us regular riders can participate.

Before the bikes roll, you can participate in a 5K run with variations for both kids and real runners. The race has classes for all ages and will follow the bicycle criterium course through downtown Reno.

The action will be centered on California Street, a change from previous years when it was in Wingfield Park, with the start / finish line at the Arlington Street Bridge over the Truckee River. The route is a bit different as well, but there are still great spots all along the race course to watch the racers speed by.

After bike races in the morning, the afternoon will have those events for the rest of us, including kids races and the popular Klunker Classic. After these, the pros are back for their racing finals. Check out “Tour de Nez Bicycle Racing” for the schedule and other event details.
