Spring forward for Daylight Saving Time

March 6, 2015

Daylight Saving Time for 2015 begins on Sunday, March 8, at 2 a.m. To make sure you are on schedule for Sunday activities, set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night before retiring. If you are a night owl like me, you won’t be liking the loss of an hour of sleep.

I don’t much care for this time switch business. Folks in a few other places don’t like it either and they don’t play the daylight saving game. In any event, it’s coming up on the brighter time of year, when we gain a few minutes of sunshine each day until the summer solstice (first day of summer) on June 21, the longest day of the year. At this point, celestial movements do a U-turn and give us a few less minutes of sunshine each day until the shortest day of the year, which is the winter solstice in December.
