Huge weekend coming to the Reno region

June 11, 2015

If you can’t find something interesting to do this weekend (June 12 – 14, 2015), you aren’t trying very hard. There are an amazing number of events and activities crowded into just a few days, which means you may have to pick and choose if you want to check out more than one thing. There are lots of details in my “June 2015 Events and Activities in the Reno Region” article. Here is a sampling to get you started…

Tour de Nez is on Saturday, June 13 in downtown Reno. It is the combination of a professional bicycle racing criterium through downtown Reno, championship handcycle racing, and various other events and activities open to all comers. While all this is going on, you can enjoy a great street party as well.

Kids Free Fishing Day is on Saturday, June 13 at Sparks Marina Park, from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Free fishing poles for all kids who register. Sponsored by Rotary Club of Sparks. It’s also Free Fishing Day throughout the entire state of Nevada.

Quail Quest: Truckee Meadows Treasure Hunt is on Saturday, June 13. Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is hosting an all-day (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) photo scavenger hunt through Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County parks, trails and open spaces. It will be followed by a picnic and award ceremony in Idlewild Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Muckfest: Mining, Whiskey & Cigars is on Saturday, June 13 in Virginia City. Bring the family and experience the past, present and future of Comstock mining. Muckfest will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Delta Saloon.

Like I said, these are only some of the things going on. Check out “June 2015 Events and Activities in the Reno Region” to learn about more.
