The 2016 presidential caucuses are coming to Washoe County

February 17, 2016

The 2016 presidential caucuses for both Democrats and Republicans will meet at locations throughout Nevada as well as in Washoe County. The caucuses are part of the process that will lead each party to select its nominee to run for president in the November election. As one of the first states (and the first in the West) to hold either caucuses or a primary election, Nevada’s influence is seen as quite important in the nominating process.

The Democratic Party caucus will be held at various locations on Saturday, February 20, 2016. Visit “Caucus HQ” to register for the caucus and learn about the caucus process, locations, times, and more.

The Republican Party caucus will be on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. For similar information about the Republican caucus, go to “Nevada Republican Caucus.”

For an overview of both party caucuses and more information about the process, visit “2016 Presidential Caucus” from the office of the Nevada Secretary of State.

To participate in either Republican or Democratic caucus, you must be registered to vote as a member of the party. If you aren’t registered, go to “Nevada Voting and Voter Registration” to learn how.
