Free Discover Your Parks Walks around Washoe County

Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation is leading free walks in different parks located in Washoe County from June 2 through August 25, 2016. These walks start at 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings and vary in distance from half a mile to 2 miles. Each week, you can explore a new location and learn about the unique and varied ecology and history of parks in our area. Plan on spending a bit over an hour on each hike. Walks are open to everyone.

The first walk, on June 2, 2016, will be the Pah Rah Interpretive Trail and Golden Eagle Regional Park in Sparks. Others follow each Thursday evening through August. Get additional information from “Discover Your Parks Walks in Washoe County.”

  • Sierra Vista Park – August 4
  • Lockwood Park – August 11
  • Swan Lake Nature Study Area – August 18
  • Cottonwood Park – August 25

  1. I really enjoy this sites posts, if possible could you make a post about local fishing spots? I really want to start fishing but don’t know where to go around Reno and near by areas
