2016 Primary Election Day

June 11, 2016

Nevada’s 2016 Primary Election Day is Tuesday, June 14. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters will get to choose their preferred candidates from among a large field vying for their attention with a variety of promises and attacks on opponents. If nothing else, the process is doing a good job of accentuating the deep divisions cutting across all levels of the political spectrum. Despite all the dissension, voting is still the best way we have for participating in decisions that affect everyone.

If you did not take advantage of early voting or submit an absentee ballot, Primary Election Day 2016 is your last chance to have a say in who appears in the General Election on November 8, 2016. If you aren’t registered to vote, you will have no say in the election, which is not a good thing. Learn about voter registration deadlines and other important election information from “2016 General Election in Washoe County and Nevada.”

Before heading to the polls, you can check your voter registration status through the Washoe County Registrar of Voters. Whether you live in Washoe County or elsewhere in Nevada, you can check your status through the Nevada Secretary of State.
