2016 Nevada Field Day

September 21, 2016

At 2016 Nevada Field Day on Saturday, September 24, visitors will be treated to a variety of free activities, tours and demonstrations, even some tasty food samples. Local restaurateur/chef Mark Estee will be demonstrating how to cook at home with healthy, local food.

Nevada Field Day is an open house at the UNR Main Station Field Lab, 5895 Clean Water Way (near the intersection of McCarran Blvd. and Mill St.) in Reno. This free event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Visitors can experience everything from cooking demonstrations, farmers market, research exhibits, 4-H activities, a variety of different tours, and much more. Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to provide information on fall planting and pruning, as well vegetable gardening and other topics for home gardeners. There is free parking and the event is open to all. It’s great family fun, but pets are not allowed.

Field Day is hosted by the Nevada Agricultural Experiment Station, UNR College of Ag, Biotech, and Natural Resources, and the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. For more information, contact Kim Higgins at (775) 784-1653.
