Fall Break time for Washoe County Schools

September 24, 2016

Fall break 2016 at the Washoe County School District is Monday, October 3 through Friday, October 7. (This is a couple of weeks earlier than it was last year.) With a weekend on each end, that’s a looooong time for the kids to be out of school and needing something to do.

Fortunately, there are a lot of activities lined up with this time in mind. For example, Galena Creek Visitor Center is holding a fall camp, as is the Discovery Museum. The recreation departments of both Reno and Sparks have vacation time activities for a variety of age groups. There are cool movies and science at the Fleischmann Planetarium and the Washoe County Library always has free activities for both children and adults.

The Reno Celtic Celebration and the Fall Fish Festival at Lake Tahoe both fall on the weekend of October 1 – 2. There are tons of things to do for kids and adults alike during both of these events.
