2016 General Election Day is November 8

November 6, 2016

The whole 2016 general election thing has been going on waaaaay too long. I think I have plenty of company sharing that sentiment, especially since it has been downright unpleasant. Perhaps people will settle down a bit after Election Day on Tuesday, November 8, but I fear the results (however it goes) may start a fresh round of partisan bickering and accusations. What happened to the days when the country voted, most everyone accepted the results as fair, and carried on with life?

If you still want to vote early, you have until Friday, November 4 to do so. There are early voting polling places throughout Reno and Washoe County. These include some branches of the Washoe County Library, Raley’s stores, Scolari’s stores, Sak ‘N Save stores, shopping centers, and the UNR Joe Crowley Student Union. Check the 2016 Washoe County Early Voting Schedule for specific locations and hours when voting will be available.

You can vote at any early voting polling place. On Election Day, however, you must vote in the precinct in which you are registered and at the designated polling location. If you aren’t sure, you can check your voter registration status through either the Washoe County Registrar of Voters or the Nevada Secretary of State. Sample ballots also have your precinct and polling place location.
