Enjoy great museums in the Reno area

December 10, 2016

Visiting any of the excellent museums in the Reno area, down in Carson City or up in Virginia City is a good way to have fun during the cold and dark days of winter.

Reno area museums feature varied topics, which means there are things to see and do for just about any interest. Art fans (including children) will enjoy the Nevada Museum of Art. One of the best car collections in the entire country is at the National Automobile Museum. History buffs will like the Nevada Historical Society Museum.

If Nevada history and/or trains are your thing, head down to Carson City for the Nevada State Museum and the Nevada State Railroad Museum. There’s also Virginia City, where the whole town is a national historic district.

For more information about these museums and more, plus where to see live shows, refer to “Museums, Culture, and Shows in Reno / Sparks, Nevada.”
