Keck Museum program by the Historic Reno Preservation Society

Learn about all kinds of places around Reno and the Truckee Meadows from a series of free presentations from the Historic Reno Preservation Society.

The second in the 2017 series is titled “The Keck Museum and Its Collection.” It will on Sunday, February 26. The presenter, Museum Curator Garrett Barmore, will describe the Museum’s outstanding collection of minerals, ores, fossil specimens and photographs, in addition to mining related relics. The full name of the facility is the W.M. Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum. It is located on the UNR campus and free to visit.

Other programs follow in March and April. All programs begin at 1 p.m. and are on the last Sunday of the month. They are held in the basement auditorium of the Washoe County Library in downtown Reno.
