Sports teams multiplying in Reno

March 15, 2017

Professional sports fans are finding an increasing number of teams to root for in Reno. In addition to Reno Aces baseball and Reno Bighorns basketball, we now have Reno 1868 FC soccer about to open its first season in town. While all professional, Reno’s teams are of the minor league variety and affiliated with respective big league teams.

Reno 1868 FC (football club) plays in the United Soccer League. The team will play its first regular season home game against the Orange County Soccer Club on March 25, 2017 at 7 p.m. Games will be played at Greater Nevada Field, home of the Reno Aces.

High school prep sports fans have lots of teams to cheer for as well. High schools in the Washoe County School District play teams from all over the region, including over the hill in northern California. When it comes to state championships, they have the potential to play schools from all across Nevada. For more information, refer to “Sports Teams in the Reno Area.”
