Fall back – Daylight Saving Time ends for 2018

November 2, 2018

Daylight Saving Time for 2018 ends on Sunday, November 4, at 2 a.m. To wake up to the correct time, set your clocks back an hour before hitting the hay on Saturday night. The good part is we get to sleep an extra hour on Sunday morning. The bad part is we get less daylight to do stuff and the hours of daylight will be getting shorter.

Daylight hours are short enough during winter without playing with the clock, and it only gets dark earlier until the winter solstice (first day of winter) on December 21. At that point, celestial movements do a U-turn and give us a few more minutes of sunshine each day until the longest day of the year, which is the summer solstice in June.

I hope you have been able to get out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather we have been having. The fall colors have been spectacular, though they are fading and the leaves are dropping. The weather is subject to sudden change this time of year, so if you plan on a fall outing or need to drive over the hill, be sure to check the weather forecast and highway conditions before starting out.
