Spring Plantapalooza with Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation

April 14, 2021

Here’s a way to both help restore a new Reno park and celebrate Earth Day. The Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation (TMPF) is inviting volunteers to join in planting 750 native plant species at a new nature study area and wetland located in east Reno. It’s part of the process of repurposing the old Rosewood Lakes Golf Course.

The event is on Saturday, April 24, 2021, starting at 8 a.m. and going till noon. It’s going to be an exciting, Covid safe, family-friendly and earth-friendly activity. Bring appropriate clothes for outdoors work, sun protection, gardening gloves, water, and your friends to make the most of it.

The new nature study area is at 6800 Pembroke Drive in Reno, near the Southeast Connector (Veterans Parkway). Go online to volunteer for Spring Plantapalooza.
