New Rosewood Nature Study Area trail now open

June 16, 2021

The new trail through the wetland of the Rosewood Nature Study Area is now open, as is the visitor center. This project was literally under development for years and is a wonderful addition to parks and natural areas in the Truckee Meadows.

The Rosewood Nature Study Area is on land formerly occupied by the Rosewood Lakes Golf Course. The course was closed to accommodate construction of the Southeast Connector (Veterans Parkway) and eventually turned over to the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation and numerous partners to be restored to a more natural condition. No pets or bikes are allowed to help preserve the area and protect wildlife.

Rosewood Nature Study Area is at 6800 Pembroke Drive in Reno. During summer, the visitor center will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Trails will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
