Get down at the 2017 Street Vibrations Fall Rally in downtown Reno and other nearby venues for the best in noisy, colorful street parties. This event really is fun to attend, even if you aren’t particularly into the motorcycle scene. Street Vibrations Fall Rally 2017 runs from Wednesday, September 27 through Sunday, October 1.

The main Street Vibrations venue is along Virginia Street in downtown Reno. You can freely check out the long rows of shiny bikes and see what numerous vendors have to offer in the way of motorcycle clothing and accessories, food and drink, and lots of other stuff. There will be free entertainment, along with other attractions like the Tattoo Expo and Denver’s Choppers Bike Show. There will also be Street Vibrations action at Chester’s Reno Harley-Davidson, Battle Born Harley-Davidson in Carson City and up in Virginia City.

Those not familiar with parking in the area should check out “Where to Park in Downtown Reno” for places to leave your ride while attending Street Vibrations.

2017 Reno Air Races

September 10, 2017

The 54th Annual Reno National Championship Air Races will be flying over Reno Stead Field from Wednesday, September 13, through Sunday, September 17, 2017.

The air show part of the event consists of performances by multiple aeronautical aces. There is always a headliner, which will be the Texas Flying Legends Museum at the 2017 Reno Air Races. Past performers have included the USAF Thunderbirds, U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. Another special feature will be the U.S. Air Force’s A-10 Heritage Flight Team. Air show performances occur during times between races.

Down on the tarmac, there will be displays of powerful military aircraft currently in service (some open for tours) and lots of beautifully restored historic flying machines. Vendors and exhibitors throughout the grounds will offer a wide variety of food, drink, and merchandise.

Be sure to read through my “2017 Reno Air Races” article for information about the show and races, getting to Reno Stead Airport, parking, and other useful information for enjoying the event as a spectator. To save a few bucks, try going during the first couple of days of the event – ticket prices increase daily, topping out on Sunday for the air racing finals.

Rev up the hotrods and make way for the Elvis impersonators – Hot August Nights is about to hit the streets of Reno and Sparks. The 2017 edition fires up on Tuesday, August 8, and goes through Sunday, August 13.

The fun begins in Virginia City, roaring through the Comstock on Friday and Saturday, August 4 and 5. The official pre-kickoff party is on Sunday, August 6 at the Bonanza Casino in Reno.
